To make more power, the engine needs more air entering the engine. In a turbo charged car like the STI the engine capacity and the turbo size determines the maximum horsepower.

If only the STI didn’t weigh 1550Kg. If you were a sumo, more weight will be good. But for a track athlete, more weight stinks worst than Bill Clinton’s cigar.

The job of the air filter is to clean the air before it enters the engine. There are many particles of dust and dirt not visible to the naked eye which can slowly wear out the engine.
